Kazakhstan

The government of Kazakhstan established the State strategy of innovative development, that include items related to ICT innovations and strong integration with foreign economies based on science, education and technology cooperation. Kazakhstan rapidly extends and improves University and Academic research centers. Kazakhstan is involved in many international student exchange programs, in part, there is a specific program on partnership between Moscow State University and Eurasian National University. Kazakhstan has built innovative development infrastructure, including network of funds for innovation activities support. Most important funds related with ICT are KAZYNA JSC Sustainable Development Fund (http://www.kazyna.kz/) and National Innovation Fund – NIF (http://www.nif.kz/index.php?id=69). The first one (KAZYNA) accumulates the most part of the investments controlled by Kazakhstan government. The second one (NIF) was created to finance innovative projects. This fund initiates and develops venture funds, technoparks and business incubators in Kazakhstan, as well as transfers advanced foreign technologies, and, in case Kazakhstan is selected for the target country, we plan to work with NIF as this fund already expressed great interest and motivation in collaboration with ISTOK-SOYUZ.
