SCUBE-ICT series of workshops in Belarus and Ukraine
In preparation for the 5th Call for research proposals under the FP7-ICT Theme, a series of 2-days workshops will be organised by SCUBE-ICT in the two targeted countries, Belarus and Ukraine. The workshops are entitled “EU supported research in the Information and Communication Technologies field – emerging opportunities under FP7-ICT Call 5” and will be held in Minsk (BY) on 25-26 June 2009 and Lviv (UA) on 2-3 July 2009.
During the first day of these workshops, the ICT research areas under Call 5 will be discussed and practical insights on research proposal elaboration will be provided, constituting valuable information, especially for researchers new to EU funded research activities. The workshops will emphasise the emerging collaboration opportunities that exist between ICT players from the respective countries and their EU counterparts, by highlighting ‘case studies’, namely examples of existing research projects involving Belarusian and/or Ukrainian partners.
In addition, a number of highly experienced EU ICT players - interested in establishing partnerships with local players - will attend to exchange ideas, network and investigate the collaboration potential to undertake joint research activities. Bilateral meetings and round tables will be organised to facilitate face-to-face dialogue.
Finally, the 2nd day will take the form of a training seminar for a limited number of ambitious and competent local actors. Detailed presentations, examples of previously submitted proposals, and practical exercises will assist them to improve their understanding of proposal preparation and project implementation, in order to improve their overall success with FP7-ICT.
Further details of both workshops will be available soon, so STAY TUNED TO www.scube-ict.eu.
